GBP Justifications
GBP justifications are the small contextual tags Google appends to a Map Pack listing — 'Their website mentions "emergency"', '"Open now · Closes 9pm"', '"In-store: Wireless earbuds"' — that explain why the listing matched the query.
In context
Justifications are auto-generated by Google from your GBP attributes, services, posts, and website content — they are not directly editable, but you control them by controlling the source signals. To earn a 'their website mentions X' justification, the website (linked from GBP) must contain that exact term in indexable content. To earn a 'review mentions' justification, multiple reviews must mention that term. Justifications materially affect click-through from the Map Pack.
A Toronto dentist's listing earns a 'Reviews mention "gentle"' justification on queries like 'gentle dentist Liberty Village' because dozens of recent reviews include the word — measurably lifting CTR for that query class.
