Domain Authority (DA)

Quick Definition

Domain Authority is a 0–100 score by Moz that estimates how likely a domain is to rank in search results, based on backlink profile.

In context

DA is a third-party metric, not an actual Google ranking factor, but it's widely used as shorthand for site strength. Ahrefs has its own equivalent (Domain Rating) and Semrush has Authority Score. None of these directly affect Google rankings, but they correlate well with actual ranking ability.
