Noindex

Quick Definition

Noindex is a meta tag (<meta name='robots' content='noindex'>) that tells search engines not to include the page in their index, even though it can be crawled.

In context

Use noindex for thank-you pages, internal search results, login pages, and any content you don't want appearing in search results. Don't combine noindex with robots.txt blocking — Google needs to crawl the page to see the noindex directive.
