FID (First Input Delay)

Quick Definition

FID measured the delay between a user's first interaction and the browser's response. It was replaced by INP as a Core Web Vital in March 2024.

In context

FID is no longer a Core Web Vital but is still reported in some tools. INP is the more comprehensive replacement that measures all interactions, not just the first one.
