102 Processing
The server has received and is processing the request, but no response is available yet.
What it means
HTTP 102 is a WebDAV interim response used to inform the client that the server has accepted the complete request but has not yet completed it, preventing the client from timing out and assuming the request was lost.
When it's used
Long-running WebDAV operations where the server expects processing to take more than the typical client timeout.
Common causes
- WebDAV PROPFIND on a large collection
- Server-side rendering of complex documents
- Long-running batch operations
How to fix it
- Not an error — informational only
- Increase client timeout if the operation legitimately requires it
- If non-WebDAV, switch to async/202 Accepted pattern with polling
